I purchased this approximately 3 months ago, and so far no issues. The original one I had was used and lasted only about 1 month. No issues wit this one so far. Works very well all the time. The cable may be a little short for larger cars.

This item gets a lot of flak and agreed - it's not the best atennae in the world but it's cheap and doesn't go in and out for me that much - if I go into a tunnel or something like that it goes off with the satellite or a massive amount of trees but otherwise I don't have any problems with it - I've never had a problem with it not working and I've had a bunch of them - for a variety of reasons I needed new ones but never because of the antennae itself..it's fine...

I hate to echo what everyone else says but this antenna is a piece of junk. I'm on my 3rd one in 18 months. It is located on the roof of my Chevy Tahoe and the only time it is touched is when I get a car wash. I like the low profile of the antenna but the fact that the last one only gave me 4 month of life is just pathetic. I know it is the antenna because I've tested reception with the Sirius indoor antenna and my car gets great reception but when I plug this one back it I get the dreaded "Acquiring Signal" from my Alpine. (I don't want to have an indoor antenna on my dashboard all the time so I'm replacing the external antenna yet again.)
My setup:
Alpine CDA-9886 head unit
Sirius Connected SIR-ALP1 tuner
System works fine except for the dang antenna.
If you can find a better antenna grab it but most likely you'll be stuck with this piece of junk until DEI decides to make a better one.
NOTE: my review does not reflect on the supplier that I'm purchasing through. They didn't make it so don't take this as a slam on Amazon or the 3rd party seller.

I do not know why Sirius or XM or anybody has been, is and continues to sell this product, year after year after year....if you buy this antenna, it will work for a short time, but equally, regardless of the circumstances, this antenna WILL break...and they will NOT replace it...and it is VERY expensive. I LOVE Sirius, the radio programming is utterly fantastic, but the radios and products are horrible. But this product, this particular antenna, is the worst product known to man. Yet on and on they sell it..with no regard for the customer..it is completely baffling. Again, I guarantee YOU 100%, this WILL fail. get the trucker antenna, incur the expensive..and figure out a way to install that antenna to your car...the trucker antenna is VERY good...

My first cable broke and so did the second one and they can't be repaired. Be very careful as it is very fragile. It could be better protected and still work in car. Bad product design.
