I don't know why people dismiss this unit. Considering the fact the FM relay adapter that plugs into the car radio's antenna jack is a $20 value, this radio is essentially $20.
Pros--
- It works.
- It's cheap.
- It has a low profile.
- Nice little remote to directly key in channels.
Cons--
- Can't read the display in daytime
- Displays only 1 line
- High power draw, will kill a weak car battery overnight. If your lighter is always hot, find a way to tie it into the accessory power instead.
- Mounts leave a lot to be desired... vibrations make it bounce around.
However, it works and it's inexpensive. Once you've memorized your presets you don't really need to see the display. The unit is self contained. There are no extra expenses like mounting kits sold separately... and I don't think the car mounting kit for the other Sirius radios comes with their FM relay adapter... or at least I couldn't tell from their boxes.
